Discuss your birth plan in a timely manner before the delivery. What do you want, but more importantly, what do you not want. Also, consider unexpected scenarios, such as giving birth in the hospital when you had planned a home birth. It may also be that the delivery is progressing so quickly that we recommend staying home. All of this can be done by creating a birth plan. This plan provides clarity and therefore less stress. You know from each other what you want.
Using your phone during delivery is not recommended, but using a contraction tracking app is highly recommended. This app allows you to easily track the frequency of contractions.
Make sure you know the route to both ZGT and MST and where to park. Wheelchairs are available, and a 2 euro coin is required at MST.
Tip: Watch out for the speed camera on the way to ZGT! Your baby won’t just pop out, so you can stick to the speed limit.
When you go to the hospital, it may take some time before the baby is born. Bring some snacks, magazines, a book, an iPad, or a laptop. It can be nice to clear your head with a Netflix series so that you can be fully there for your partner when the time comes. Don’t forget the chargers…
Tip: Chill a beer for after the delivery! A good outcome should be celebrated!
