Call if urgent 074 242 19 10
A lot happens in the first few weeks after giving birth. You worked hard during labor, you have chronic sleep deprivation, and your hormones are raging through your body. This can make you very vulnerable, and it can also put a lot of pressure on your relationship, so the cloud is not always colored pink.
That’s why it can be nice not to receive too many visitors and only allow people who can really help you to come over. Someone who can cook for you or support you in other ways. It’s normal to sometimes feel sad or to doubt whether you’re doing it right. A lot is happening this week. Usually, this feeling will pass on its own.
If you notice that a gray veil is hanging over your pink cloud, or you still feel vulnerable or don’t look back on the birth experience positively, try to discuss this with your partner, your maternity nurse, or with us. Seek support from friends or family. You don’t have to be ashamed of these feelings; you’re not alone. In addition, you can always call us, and we can look together to see if we can help you or refer you to a specialist.
